I have had a craving for frozen yogurt for months now. Come to think of it, I think I had this craving since BEFORE I was pregnant. So that’s like pre-june ish. But I didn’t have a food processor to make it. I had before, and personally, didn’t like it. So I didn’t have my hopes up high for this, but I had recently started to enjoy the taste of jelly, so who knows!

I saw a bunch of different recipes, which included the need for frozen berries. I always enjoyed the mixed berry sodas you can get at the coffee shops these days, so I had hopes that it would taste similar. I chose what was called a “berry medley”. It had strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. It looked yummy. When I got home, I read over the recipe and whatnot and got started.


  • 2 Cups frozen berries
  • ½ cup Plain Yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp Lemon or Vanilla

I noticed that morning when I had my blackberry jam, I had a weird texture from the berries that I didn’t like, so I had hoped that I could puree the berries and then put it through a fine mesh strainer. But thinking back I didn’t let the berries sit out enough ,so when they got pureed, they were still frozen solid. Ah well. Mistakes happen. Now I know how to correct it in the future. I threw all ingredients in the processor and pulsed until I got the desired consistency. I put it in a plastic food storage bin with a lid and put it in the freezer. I really enjoyed this because it took 5 minutes and it was done and in the fridge. And here is the best part. Its healthy! For a dessert anyways. You got berries, the honey instead of sugar, a lemon, and yogurt. Considering I’m the type of person who would rather have a chocolate cake for dessert, I’d say its pretty healthy.
