So while I am trying to make most things by hand, there are certain things I don’t think I have quite enough skills for yet. One of them being making tortellini. So, until I do, I am perfectly fine with getting Bertoli brand premade 3 cheese tortellini. I had never tried it before, but I had tried their 3 cheese raviolis, and they were okay, but they cheese tasted….off. I had a texture issue with it. Being that the tortellini was smaller, I figured I’d give it a shot. Besides. It sounded delicious! I wasn’t sure if husband or daughter was going to like it, but It had been sitting in my fridge, and it just sounded so good! So I guess you could say I didn’t care to much if they liked it or not that day.

Ingredients were:

  • 1 Package of Bertolli 3 cheese Tortellini

  • 2 Teaspoons of Minced garlic (I used about 4 cloves minced up cause I love my garlic)

  • 1/3 cup Butter (I used salted)

  • 1 Tbsp Flour

  • 1 Cup Milk

  • Parsley, Basil (optional, I didn’t add)

First things first, start the tortellini. It will take approx 7 minutes. Put in boiling water and don’t forget to salt it!

Afterward, get a separate pan and start melting butter. Once the butter is melted, add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds to a minute, you do not want the garlic to overcook or brown at all!! Very important. After the garlic has cooked, add the flour to make a roux. Cook for about a minute or two, just enough to get the raw flour taste out, and then add the milk and seasonings. Let it come to a boil and then cook until it is the desired thickness you would like. After the pasta has cooked, drain and toss together. Serve with Garlic Bread.
